Born in Chicago in January of 1951, Father Robert J. Roll credits his vocation to the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth.  After attending public school for the first two years in Des Plaines, IL, where his family had moved in the late 1950's,  he then attended Our Lady of Hope School in Rosemont, IL.  Fr. Roll was a member of the second graduating class of Our Lady of Hope School (1965)  now closed.   He attended high school at Quigley North; and college at Niles College of Loyola University (now St. Joseph Seminary). 

 

Father Bob Roll was ordained on May 11, 1977, at St. Mary of the Lake in Mundelein, IL, with his first assignment being an associate pastor at St. Constance in the Jefferson Park neighborhood of Chicago. He has also served as an associate at St. Giles in Oak Park and at St. Cornelius in Chicago.   Father Roll was named pastor of SS. Peter and Paul on Chicago's southwest side, in the McKinley Park neighborhood, in 1986 where he served for eighteen years. During that time, he also served as a Dean in Vicariate V and as a non-resident pastor of St. Maurice parish.

 

In August 2004, Father Roll was assigned as the ninth Pastor of St. Bride Parish in Chicago's historic South Shore neighborhood.

Originally from Colorado, Mrs. Palmore has been a member of St. Bride Parish since 1974.  She was on the faculty of St. Bride School for 26 years, 7 of those years as principal.  Mrs. Palmore holds a Bachelors of Arts Degree in English and History from the University of Colorado and a Masters Degree in Education from Loyola University in the areas of Leadership, Human Resources, Development, and Curriculum. She holds Administration Certification from the State of Illinois. She is also a Certified Catechist for the Archdiocese of Chicago.

Mrs. Palmore is involved in the planning, organization, supervision, and business management of all parish programs including the After School Program, Thursday Morning Connections Food Pantry, Catholic Schools Scholarship Program, Faith Sharing Groups, parish outreach, catechesis and sacramental programs. 

Mrs. Palmore is the site supervisor for the Catholic Theological Union students who choose St. Bride Parish for their Ministry Practicum.

Mr. Rose, "Coach", was a member of St. Bride School's faculty from 1981 until the school closed in 2005. He now organizes and supervises all youth activities in the parish including Altar Servers and the Youth Group. 

He is involved in peace and justice events such as the Citywide Unity Rally and all parish life activities. He directly supervises the Thursday Morning Connections Food Pantry and the After School Program.

Mr. Rose also supervises our Camp Bride Summer Program.

Mr. Slay is St. Bride's all-around-man.  He maintains the church, parish house, Claretian novitiate, and all the grounds.  He also helps coordinate all parish life events and is the chef at all of our Pancake Breakfasts.
